We collaborate nationally and internationally to develop and support the conduct of clinical trials and research to identify the most effective treatments and achieve better health outcomes.

WHAT WE DO

Around 2000 Australians develop brain cancer each year. While outcomes for other cancers have steadily improved over time, this has not been the case for brain cancer. The five-year survival rate for all types of primary brain cancer has remained low, at around 22%, over the past 30 years. The five-year survival rate for glioblastoma, the most common primary brain cancer in adults, remains poor at just 5%. More effort is required to discover new treatments and interventions for brain cancer. Clinical trials are vital for translating research into clinical practice to improve survival and quality of life.
